Treat yourself and your dogs to a relaxing meal or drink at one of the many dog-friendly restaurants in Leicestershire. Our favorite and closest pet-friendly places are:

Just a 5 minute walk from Mallory Meadows churchyard is our fantastic country restaurant, Mallories. The bar is dog friendly and offers a great atmosphere and super tasty food. Mallories is a great stop for a drink or a meal before or after our short walk through the village.

This amazing dog friendly cafe is located in Barwell, our next village. It is a short drive away, 5 minutes by car or for a stroll through fields and footpaths follow our 5km walking route (each way). (We don’t recommend walking along Barwell Road, there is no footpath and it is quite busy and narrow). An excellent selection of local dishes, cakes and pastries, excellent locally roasted coffee and a menu full of local produce await you. Water bowls and dog treats await your furry friend. Check opening hours and you can make a reservation to secure your spot.

The Sunday lunch menu includes the best roast potatoes and I highly recommend the bucket gravy and the homemade pies are also a favorite in our house. The Windmill Inn is welcoming in any weather, with a cozy wood burning stove in winter and a sunny beer garden with occasional live music on warmer days, it’s dog friendly too! Advance reservation is recommended.

Ollie and his team at Herco are absolutely brilliant!  The traditional Coaching Inn is located in the quiet village of Sutton Cheney, a short drive from Mallory Meadows. They offer an extensive Sunday lunch menu with a very tempting wine list. You can combine a delicious lunch with a trip to the historic Bosworth Battlefield, which is just around the corner. The Tams always enjoyed our visits.  They are also dog friendly and have the most amazing historical map on the wall in the upstairs dining room. The cozy fireplaces in winter and the sunny terrace in summer are worth a visit. Advance reservation is recommended.

Take a stroll through our local garden center. It is less than a 10 minute drive from us and is completely dog friendly. It also offers a selection of shops to visit and a cafe with dog-friendly seating. If you need some treats, check out the butchers and delicatessens, and for shopping they have a small Waitrose, as well as a fresh fruit and veg stall!

Be active and have fun with your dog by joining him for a swim in the dog-only heated indoor pool! It’s a great way to bond with your furry friend while staying fit and healthy. Soggy Dogs is a short drive away and offers a unique experience for you and your furry friend.
