Dog Friendly Vacations Near Illinois

Dog Friendly Vacations Near Illinois – For many, a trip to Illinois means a visit to Chicago with its world-class museums, stunning architecture and world-class restaurants. Located on the shores of Lake Michigan, the city features miles of ocean beaches and lush parks just steps from downtown. What surprises most visitors, however, is how much Illinois has to offer! Beyond the city limits you will find the real America. The Mississippi River defines the state’s entire western border and offers a variety of outdoor activities. Charming river towns, steamboats, sprawling vineyards, and quaint inns are just a few of the discoveries that await you and your pet in Illinois.

If possible, plan your pet visit to Illinois in the fall. In September and October, daytime temperatures are perfect in the upper 70s, the sky is reliably blue, and the leaves of the deciduous trees show off their vibrant colors. You don’t have to worry about snow until the end of November, and hotel prices are typically lower in fall, winter and spring. Summers in Illinois are hot and humid, but this is when most of the state’s festivals and fairs take place and when most people visit the state.
