Pet Friendly Lodging Zion Ut – Dog shelter

We have always been reluctant to pass through Zion National Park on a trip to Utah because, like most national parks, Zion is not “dog friendly”. On the last trip we decided to donate and we live in Zion White Bison. Located just a few miles from the park’s west entrance, we used it as a base camp for walking the park and exploring with all the kennels around the entrance. All I can say is that I’m pretty sure I finally decided to go, and while there were no dog-friendly activities in the park, there were plenty.

We stayed at the Cliff Lodge at Zion White Bison and loved it. Modeled after ancient Anasazi kivas, our dog-friendly Cliff Dwelling is spacious and stately and features a king-size bed, living room with sofa and TV, full kitchen, bathroom, and upper deck complete with dining table and fire pit. HOT TUB PRIVATE with mesa views and beautiful canyons all around!

Zion White Bison has been honored as one of America’s top five ranches with Cove Wagons, Tipis and Cliff Dwellings and I can’t wait to plan a return trip! While Zion National Park itself doesn’t have many animal-friendly trails, the hiking in the park is great and there are many kennels on both sides of the park.

Snow Canyon State Park – (please note that the park requires an entrance fee for most trails) We love the red rock color throughout the park and had a great time exploring countless trails, caves, oil sands, petroglyphs and mini canyons.

Pink Coral Sand Dunes State Park – (admission required) These dunes are said to be 10,000,000 to 15,000,000 and you can rent an ATV or sandboard here to tour the dunes, but we enjoyed hiking and playing . on the beach!

Paria Canyon-Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness/Kanab Area: This 112-acre, 500-acre area is filled with bike trails, canyons, rock formations, and colorful cliffs, and the dog-friendly options are endless and fun! It was wet and the road was a little washed out and the canyon was full when we visited, so we had to change plans at the last minute, but there’s no shortage of things to do here!

Family Friendly Hikes In Zion National Park

After spending the day exploring, we returned to the lodge and watched the sunset over the hot tub. The Zion White Bison property is full of character and even raised its own white bison (a calf was born two days after we left) for you to visit. The white bison is a rare, white animal and is the latest generation, one of 10 million white bison born. Now, about one in a million is white. This resort is meant to be a sanctuary for these sacred animals and it’s fun to spend time with them!

If you want to see Zion and the surrounding area (with or without a pet) I highly recommend staying in one of the unique Wagon, Tipi, or Cliff House! Use code GLAMP10 for 10% off.
