Head south of London and you’ll find yourself in the capital’s Jurassic Park. Crystal Palace Park has 30 life-size models of dinosaurs that were first introduced in 1854. Designed by sculptor and naturalist Benjamin Waterhouse Hawkins, these large sculptures were created using the most modern scientific knowledge of the time. .

If you’re looking to give your urban offspring a taste of the countryside, you’re in luck, London has some great farms. Located on the east side of town, these farms are home to horses, cattle, sheep, pigs and many other animals that can be found on any farm in the countryside.

One of my favorite things about living in North London is Hampstead Pond. Covering 790 acres, the beautiful Hampstead Heath has three pools: a mixed pool, a men’s pool and a Kenwood women’s pool. People have been bathing here for decades, and little has changed over the years.

Hard to believe, I know, but sometimes the weather in London is good. Not only is the weather nice, but the city can be hot! It’s guaranteed that no one in the family will want to wander around the museum when Mercury rises.
Then head to one of London’s best parks. The most popular playground for young children is the Princess Diana Memorial Playground in Kensington Gardens. Next to the wooden pirate ship is a small pad where you can play for hours.
Another favorite place for my four year old is the fountains at Granary Square in Kings Cross. He’s not alone, on sunny summer days the square is full of families enjoying something close to London’s seafront.
