Vacations together are popular with families and groups of friends, whether it’s a long getaway, a weekend city break or some beach time.
Best Dog Friendly Uk Hotels
But there is always one important member that you can leave behind on the trip: the four-legged friends in your life. However, you don’t have to leave a dog with a friend or a flat when planning your next UK trip. They can accompany you on hiking, biking, hiking, and even boat trips while you’re away, making for a fun and memorable vacation without leaving them at home.
Top Dog Friendly Places For Staycations
There are many dog and pet-friendly accommodation destinations in the UK, from seaside hotels to Cotswolds cottages and cottages. This is the best choice – just remember to pack something interesting and lead.
One of Britain’s most beautiful landscapes, the Lake District is a haven for outdoor activities, offering dogs (and their owners) hundreds of opportunities for short walks, walks rides and challenging hikes. Most of the roads between the villages are easy to walk and your pets will probably not be too active during your visit.
Located just outside the market town of Keswick, Mire House Farm has a range of shepherd’s huts and cozy pods overlooking the mountains of the Northern Fells. Little Man is one of the many dog-friendly properties with a small enclosed garden and dozens of hectares of grassy area, ideal for walks or quick outings. The nearby village of Threrkeld also has a number of pet-friendly pubs.
The cozy cabin has its own hot tub, elegant wooden interior and outdoor seating – a great choice for waking up with our furry friend.
Best Dog Friendly Hotel Seahouses
While Cornwall’s Fistral Beach is known as a surfer’s paradise, on calm days this 750m stretch of golden sand is heaven on earth, with plenty of room to run. Dog-friendly pubs, restaurants and cafes await furry friends when you enter Newquay, for example a steam train ride in the Lappa Valley or a fishing trip.
Hotel Esplanade overlooks the Fistral and offers guests a sanctuary with a view on the Atlantic Ocean. Dogs are more than welcome here: dog beds and toys are available, and there is even a special dog friendly ‘tapas’ menu with dishes like fish and chips or a fried dinner.
With spacious rooms, a spa and swimming pool and easy access to the beach, this Cornish hotel is for all the family – with a special emphasis on ‘making memories’, surfing lessons and similar family activities.

A Dog Friendly Stay At The Northallerton Inn
The Cotswolds have all the walking routes and scenic backdrop of the Lake District, but are also charming. Here, small hills and hectares of green surround charming villages of honeyed houses, with many walking opportunities, including quiet river walks in villages such as Bibury and Bourton-on -the-Water.
Snowshill Manor Farmhouse is part of a large National Trust estate in the small village of Snowshill (near Broadway). It’s a ‘real walking destination’, part of dozens of dog-friendly trails nearby, such as the 102-mile Cotswold Way, but visitors can also travel to nearby Stratford-upon-Avon or Chipping Campden. The cottage has comfortable, modern interiors and a wood-burning stove to keep guests warm; There is enough space for two dogs, so large groups can also rent this accommodation.
Brighton is one of the most dog-friendly cities in the UK. There are many walking routes in the city, beaches, parks such as Pavilion Gardens and the nearby South Downs, but Brighton is also home to dog-friendly businesses, including many pubs and cafes.
You can take your pup on a cruise on Volk’s Electric Railway or try one of the city’s dog-focused events, such as the Dogtember events at Saltdean Lido (where dogs and owners can swim four times a day between 9:00 am on weekends from September to October 1).
Bike & Boot
The Grand Brighton is one of the best dog-friendly accommodations in the city. Dogs can be booked in any room and receive a welcome package that includes a blanket, fresh water and treats. Although pets are not allowed in the main restaurant or terrace, they can dine by the fireplace in the hotel’s Victoria Lounge and Bar.
Yorkshire is another excellent area for getting away with the family dog. The great countryside and coastal towns offer many opportunities to fill their days. Whitby is such a town, located on the coast, just a few miles from the border of the North York Moors National Park, so you can choose between walking in the countryside or the sand and the sea.
The Egton Estate is situated on the Moors and has 6,000 hectares of less disturbed nature. With hectares of heath and miles of river running through the property, it’s a great place to bring a (well-behaved) dog to play with the owner’s rescue dogs (and sample a selection of organic treats).
You can join your four-legged friend on fishing trips or photography trips, and part of the coast-to-coast walking route goes through Egton. For dinner you can use the barbecue or walk to its own pub, the Horseshoe Hotel.
Dog Friendly Holidays France
The Ayrshire region is dotted with acres of rolling green hills and extensive woodland surrounding small villages, and Ayr is a popular Scottish seaside resort that lends itself to day trips (promise -trip on the boat and visit to the beach for the dog) .
But if you really want to run into the wilderness with your dog, stay at the Mountain Freedom cabins. Nestled amongst the cliffs and overlooking the cliffs of Carrick Beach, the three cabins offer a relaxing retreat with panoramic views across the water to the Isle of Arran. Dogs will enjoy walking, whether on nearby beaches or forests, and sitting with you while you eat at The Anchorage, a nearby pub in the village of Dunure. When it’s time for them to move, they’ll appreciate the fireplace as much as you do (although they won’t appreciate the hot tub or the view as much).

There is no doubt that owning a dog can be one of the happiest and most rewarding experiences of your life. This doesn’t mean it’s always an easy road: there are still vet bills, cheek walks when you’re hungry, and you make sure you find a dog sitter when you’re on the holibob. And don’t get me started on the emotional impact of being separated from your beloved pup for a weekend or longer. Did someone say FaceTime?
How happy we are to find a place for our precious four-legged friends. What’s more, many hotels even offer personalized puppy services, including daycare, dog-friendly menus (!), and even dog-friendly travel guides.
There’s a lot to love about Mama Shelter London in Shoreditch: there’s the edgy (read: Instagrammable) design, the drool-worthy menu (did someone say lobster thermidor mac ‘n’ cheese croquette?!); and of course dogs are also welcome. I will meet you there.
Best Dog Friendly Hotels In Brighton Uk: A Pet Owner’s Guide
This is great stuff. According to data collected by Stelrad, it is the highest pet-friendly hotel in the United Kingdom, with a Google rating of 5. Not bad, eh? Located in Cornwall, Rosehill offers self catering restaurants close to a number of dog friendly beaches. Note: dogs are *not* allowed in the hot tub, which, let’s face it, is probably for the best.
You won’t be the only one treated like royalty on the Esplanade in Cornwall. That’s right, in addition to the nearby beach, your four-legged friend also gets a dog bed, water bowl, toys and his own dog list; with a range of dog dinners from Sir Woofchester’s including fish ‘n’ chips. Dogs are welcome for an extra £15 per night.
The Milford Waterfront cruise cabins have been on our dream destination list for a while; with the taste of the furniture, we have the personality of its atmosphere and a private balcony, they are ideal for a romantic or platonic escape. Even better? They now offer two dog-friendly floats.
