Is this the best knitwear in Texas? The Hobbit’s Nest Tree, located near Bastrop in Page, Texas, is a great escape from the jungle. As you might have guessed, the land is Lord of the Rings themed, with lots of little touches to bring the Shire to life.

And, best of all, they are one of the places to always find your favorite dog. In fact, their people live nearby and their two dogs roam the property and may even come up to the trees to say hello!
There is no WiFi, but there is a kitchen, bathroom, shower and small fridge, so I recommend cooking on site and staying apart. Additionally, the sounds of nature are very high here, especially their “message frogs” which you can hear from the beautiful lily pond overlooking the treehouse.
This stunning modern home is located on the outskirts of Dripping Springs in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Options at Lucky Arrow Retreat (new members get $10 off Hipcamp) include cabins, log cabins, and log cabins, depending on the size of your party and the type of experience you want. If you really want to see your eyes out, a yurt is your best bet, as explained below.
Each room sleeps two guests and has access to a nearby shared bathroom. For a more hotel-like experience, choose from the Courtyard Cabins, Breezeway Cabins and Patio Cabins, each of which sleeps four guests and has its own bathroom.
Anyone Road Trip With A Dog?
While the hotel welcomes dogs and cats, you have to pay $150 per pet, which you pay when you book through Hipcamp (which also guarantees they’ll put you in one of their pet rooms).
If you’ve ever wanted to sleep in a converted shipping container, the FlopHouze Container Hotel in Roundtop, Texas is just what you’ve been looking for. Sit around the fire pit and admire the spectacular starry sky, swim in the infinity pool, and hit the town to shop for antiques.
If you really want to have a great time, book your stay at the Dome Antiques Show (book early because people come from all over the world!). Yes, pets are allowed for free!
Greenleaf Reserve near Bastrop has four luxury yurts to choose from. If you bring your dog, their pet-friendly yurt is The Copper Lily ($10 for newbies from Hipcamp).

The yurt sleeps 4 guests and features amenities such as a fully equipped private bathroom and access to hiking trails. They also offer free hikes, which require an additional $25 at checkout. They also offer kayak rentals and more upon request!
Uniquely located in the Texas Hill Country, 3232 Farm offers rentals, tents, RV sites, campgrounds, and even a Gypsy Cart (new members get $10 from Hipcamp). This Johnson City hotel is just 1.5 miles from Pedernales Falls State Park, so it’s perfect if you want to hike and explore, but not in the state where you live garden.
My favorite is the Birdhouse, their little garage, although I would only recommend it for a person (+ dog). Too small! If you’re looking for something bigger, the Room is a great option. As of this writing, dogs are not allowed in their luxury tents.
It’s best to check which rooms at each resort allow pets, as sometimes not all rooms in a hotel can change according to policy!
Pet Friendly Hotel Napa Valley, Ca
Located on the shores of Bastrop Lake, GLAT Austin has luxury safari tents that sleep 3 to 6 guests, depending on which tent you choose (available for $10 for newcomers from Hipcamp). They also have homes with their own bathrooms, as well as other amenities such as fireplaces in every room.
If you want to go rafting in the summer, Mystic Quarry in Canyon Lake, Texas is the perfect place to stay! Their campsites range from cabins, tents, bright tents, and houses to RV sites and tents (new members get $10 from Hipcamp). Relax by the pool, float on the nearby Guadalupe River, catch a concert at the Whitewater Amphitheater, or spend the day at Canyon Lake.
If you specify that they are pet-friendly, you’ll find that they have plenty of dog-friendly options, such as their hunting lodge (my personal favorite ai), their beautiful little house, and other homes.
One of my favorite things about Mystery Quarry? It covers 10 acres and features recreational facilities such as beach volleyball, lawn games, natural swimming pools, walking trails, playgrounds, dog pools and dog parks. You can read more about their dog policy here.
