Best Pet Friendly Resorts Around Bangalore – There’s a new pet-friendly destination: Aurika Coorg by Lemon Tree Hotels. Last week, my husband Sharat and I went with our dogs Raju and Aishu to Aurika Coorg, a pet-friendly resort in Coorg, nestled among 45 acres of rainforest and coffee plantations in the Western Ghats. And the dogs were amazed by what they saw and experienced. Vast greens, lots of space to run and lots of things to smell, endless food and toys, delicious food and comfort food. If they could write this review, they would be inundated with so many wonderful experiences, but here are my thoughts as a pet parent and traveler about a luxury pet friendly resort in Coorg my point of view; Best pet friendly resort near bangalore. If you want to know more about pet friendly places to stay in Coorg, bookmark this post.
First, a little background on how we became new pet parents. A few years ago, when COVID suddenly engulfed our lives and the first lockdowns began, my husband and I joined a community of animal lovers to feed free dogs on the streets. This is how we found a group of cute puppies lost in the park without their mother. They were a few weeks old and we took turns feeding them. One of them was a strong and playful puppy and one of our friends immediately named him Raju because it was the most favorite name for any dog.

Raju grows mischievous and full-on by the day and soon becomes the happy but powerful Alpha of the group. Unfortunately, tragedy struck and when he was just six months old, he was beaten by some thugs in the middle of the night and broke his spine. Raju, a very enthusiastic boy, semi-paralyzed and in severe pain; most vets tell us to put it down. Finally, one of them agreed to the operation and we brought him home, hoping that one day he will be able to walk and run like normal dogs. However, two years later, although he can stand and walk a bit, he is still partially paralyzed and can’t hold himself, but he runs in a wheelchair that we bought for him. And Raju looks like a traveler who has traveled to beaches and forests and is now enjoying a great vacation in the hills. His sister Aishu has always been there for him in good times and bad and she has been with us for the past few months and this is her first time away from home.

Aurika talks about Coorg being pet friendly. This pet-friendly resort in Coorg has so far housed more than 95 dogs and cats, including 30 Indians. Most pet-friendly resorts discriminate against Indians and favor cuddly and cuddly breeds. In addition, there are various restrictions. But Aurika Coorg has almost none of this, except that they have to wear a chain outside the pet room and shelter.
Raju, a paraplegic dog, also has special needs. Although we have taken him to boutiques in Ooty and Bangalore and other pet-friendly resorts near Bangalore, we were a bit worried about whether he would be comfortable here. But Aurika Coorg made her feel at home right from the start. Their mantra is pets, and as you can see on the billboard at the entrance, they have pet-friendliness on their sleeves, said CEO Sanjay Pandita, who welcomed us. As we had our welcome drinks, Raju and Aishu offered them welcome drinks. We also register them as pets.
The rooms have beds, treats and toys for pets and they love it. Everything is carefully designed with your pet’s safety and comfort in mind. There are also bowls to give them food and water. Although the dog’s meals are personalized, they can sit with you at certain tables in the restaurant.
The staff were so pet friendly that Raju and Aishu felt very comfortable there. They walked and ran with us, rolled on the lawns, sunbathed, chased squirrels and ducks, looked at the wide greens from the balcony and slept curled up, dreaming of further adventures.
Bengaluru Pet Friendly Holiday Rentals
But there is more to Aurika Coorg than a pet-friendly luxury resort. Spread over 45 acres, this aesthetically designed property offers views of the lush tropical forests and coffee and spice plantations of the Western Ghats. Every part of the property tells a story, whether it’s the art installation on the banquette or the pieces of artistic wood used to design some of the furniture. You can go bird watching, take part in nature walks and farm tours, and even try your hand at brewing coffee.
Birds are everywhere; in the garden, in the field, as well as as a piece of art in the room and hallway. I went birding with Ganesh, the naturalist at home, who has been a ‘Coorg birder’ for over twenty years and is also a great storyteller. Ask him to take you on a tour of the property as well as a nature walk. I did two random birding sessions in and around the facility and we saw about 30 species in an hour. It is also very therapeutic.
The resort has 55 rooms, three of which are reserved exclusively for pets and parents. Now it is an ideal holiday destination for families, companies and even weddings. With delicious dining and dining options, you can choose from the multi-cuisine restaurant Mirasa, the elegant bar, Ariva, a coffee and wine lounge called Roast & Red, and even the private cabin deck of Aura.
You can also stargaze at the Au.rion terrace or head to the Araya Spa for relaxation. While the outdoor swimming pool opens up to the mountains and forest, there are also meeting rooms and ballrooms for conferences and events.
