The Upper Peninsula is famous for its waterfalls, especially around Munising and Pictured Rockers National Lakeshore. There is no better place to explore the United States. This waterfall is more fun with dogs than the so-called Yellow Dog Falls near the market. There are several drops of various sizes along the Yellow Dog River, the tallest being 20 feet. This is Yellow Dog Falls. It is located off of County Road 510, about 9 miles south of County Road 550. Once you get to the bridge, there is a small parking lot where you can descend one mile to Yellow Dog Falls. . The trail continues for another kilometer, passing several rapids and waterfalls. A great way to spend a few hours with your four-legged friend.
This easy 1-mile trail is located in the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore (which you and your dog can hike, but not in the National Lakeshore). You will soon reach an amazing viewpoint where you can see the Au Sables lighthouse.
