As an added bonus and for a little fun, we included a list of the states’ so-called Pup-Koops (aka Starbucks) per capita, and even lots per square mile. Note: these are not in our top cities.

Read on to find out where dogs live best and check out the methodology section below for how we collected this data.

The best and worst cities for dogs are ranked in the most important areas for dogs and their owners, divided into three categories: dog friendliness, dog walking and health care.

The “dog-friendly” score includes a number of dog-friendly activities, dog-friendly restaurants and dog-friendly restaurants. The “Dog Walkability” score includes the number of days a dog can comfortably play outside each year and the number of dog parks per capita. Finally, the “Pet Health” rating refers to the availability and accessibility of veterinary services in each city.

20 The nobility is the last of the cities, because it has little or no population. The five largest of these cities are shown in the image above. No protein was harmed in the creation of this series.

Your dog deserves treatment, and all puppies are cute. While many cafes offer free lattes (espresso-pots of espresso-supplemented with whipped cream) Starbucks was the first chain to come up with a secret menu dog, also called “Puppuccinos”. The average number of the state preferred was one and 100 points were scored. The worst dog states have the lowest average rating with a score of 0.
