A good rule of thumb when it comes to traveling in Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks is to take the animal anywhere a vehicle can go (roads, campgrounds, picnic areas) only on a leash. Dogs are not allowed on any of the dirt trails inside the park, limiting the number of day trips and the number of trips that guests can take while visiting the site.

Resort Fee & Pet Policy

If your pet becomes ill or injured during your stay, we recommend taking them to Spring Creek Animal Hospital.

Dogs are expected to be on a leash at all times and are not allowed in any city parks. However, there are various dog-friendly areas throughout the Jackson Hole area that can be easily identified by PAWS Mutt-Mitt tags at the trailhead.

Favorite places to walk your dog include Emily’s Pond on the Snake River and the south end of the West Bank River Dyke. These sites are located on both banks of the Snake River – with spectacular views of the Tetons – and are located on HWY 22 through Teton Village and Wilson. Cash Creek has an extensive trail network not far from the Snow King base and is one of the most popular places for locals and visitors to bring their dogs for a walk. There are areas throughout the valley, including the Bridger Teton National Forest, that have designated campsites and will give your dog more freedom to roam. However, to protect your dog and the wildlife outside, it is important to keep your dog inside your property and under command at all times.
